چکیده
Abstract This study compared the effects of four forest canopies on throughfall chemistry in Qinling Mountains, China. Rainfall and samples were collected stands Quercus aliena (Qa) var. Acuteserrata, Pinus tabulaeformis (Pt), P. armandii (Pa), mixed broad-leaved (Mb) trees from 2009 to 2011. The results indicated that pH rainfall, which was mildly acidic, increased as it passed through canopy. more within canopy than coniferous forest. Concentrations decreased rainfall Qa but after passing other species. concentrations Zn, Cd Pb canopies. effective reducing rainwater. decreases similar among concentration most heavy metals, order decrease > Pt Pa Mb. may provide a basis for selection tree species afforestation water sources Mountains areas.

Impacts of Cwd on Understory Biodiversity in Forest Ecosystems in the Qinling Mountains, China
The stocks and characteristics of coarse woody debris (CWD) are expected to reflect forest stand features. However, despite their importance, there have been no reports of CWD stocks and characteristics in the Qinling Mountains. We measured the CWD stocks in different CWD types, decay classes and diameter classes of the five forest types in the Qinling Mountains. The highest biomass of CWD was ...
متن کاملPaleozoic metamorphism in the Qinling orogen, Tongbai Mountains, central China
The Qinling orogen (Fig. 1) extends for over 2000 km across central China, separating the Archean and Proterozoic Sino-Korean block in the north from the Proterozoic Yangtze block in the south. Although the orogen has been recognized as a continental collision zone for some time, the nature, age, and duration of the collision have been the subject of considerable debate (see review in Hacker et...

متن کاملGrowth of bamboo Fargesia qinlingensis and regeneration of trees in a mixed hardwood-conifer forest in the Qinling Mountains, China
Gap characteristics and effects of gaps on plasticity of Fargesia qinlingensis and tree regeneration were studied under canopy, and in small, medium, and large gaps in a mixed hardwood-conifer forest in the Qinling Mountains, China. Gap formation was mainly tree snapping (40%). Gapmakers were dominated by Betula albosinensis and Abies fargesii (85%). Gap area ranged from 23.8 to 594.2 m and ave...
متن کاملHopes and challenges for giant panda conservation under climate change in the Qinling Mountains of China
One way that climate change will impact animal distributions is by altering habitat suitability and habitat fragmentation. Understanding the impacts of climate change on currently threatened species is of immediate importance because complex conservation planning will be required. Here, we mapped changes to the distribution, suitability, and fragmentation of giant panda habitat under climate ch...
